Developers resource XDA Developers managed to get an early build of the operating system Android Q, which should be submitted only in the spring. It turned out a lot of interesting innovations. On the most important, we now tell.

The dark theme of the interface

Android Q has a full dark theme, affecting not only the main elements of the system interface but also standard applications. Everything will be painted in black and dark gray, which can significantly increase the battery life on devices with OLED-displays.

This design option will be activated from the screen settings. In the same place it will be possible to establish automatic inclusion depending on time of day.

Desktop mode

In the code, the developers found mention of the Force desktop mode option, which is described as using an experimental desktop mode with additional displays. Apparently, this is the output mode of the image, adapted to external screens.

Similar job opportunities are already available for some Samsung and Huawei flagships, but they are implemented on the basis of branded shells. Adding such a function to a clean version of Android will speed up its appearance on many other devices.

New permissions for applications

From the Android Q settings, users can view the permissions of each application separately. This is necessary in order to be able to configure the issuance of rights to use device resources only at the time of launching each specific program. For example, an application that uses a camera and microphone will only access them when you turn it on. This best feature of smartphones restriction will protect against possible surveillance and listening to potentially dangerous software.

Special abilities

In the settings item “Special features” there will be two new functions, which are still referred to as Time to take action and Time to read. The first one allows you to choose the time for displaying informational messages that require some kind of action from you.

The Sensors off button was found in the quick settings curtain, which should turn off not only the radio modules but also all the sensors on the device. This applies to the accelerometer, gyroscope, light sensors, and so on.

If Google adheres to its traditional schedule of release of new versions of the OS, the official release of the pre-Android Q for developers should take place in March released at Inflexguide. A full launch is worth the wait in the fall.
